school fence to keep students in... and out!

Most school fences are aimed at keeping pupils safely enclosed, but Warner Otago franchisee
Peter Thomas has just completed a large school fence that is also intended to keep students out.

Besides being on both sides of one of Dunedin's busiest inner-city thoroughfares, George Street Normal School is also in the university precinct. And its ageing and low chain-link fences were not deterring carousing scarfies.

The school now boasts one hundred metres of 1.9-metre-high Warner fence and a further hundred metres of new chain-link fence, coated in black PVC to match the smart Warner product.

The contract for Amalgamated Builders also included a sliding gate, 2.8 metres in height to match up with the new chain-link fence.

Peter says the job was quite a challenge in the high-traffic location with crowds of kids around, as it also involved demolishing and removing the old fencing using a digger, as well as some tree trimming, before construction began.

He is pleased with the outcome: yet another school considerably smartened up with great workmanship and Warner fencing.
